Landscape Technicians are responsible for working with and supporting landscape professionals in designing, planning and managing spaces in both natural and built environments.  They work to meet project requirements and support other professionals in protecting, conserving and enhancing the natural and built environment for the benefit of the public, communities, stakeholders and clients.  Landscape Technicians use a wide range of technical skills and are at the forefront of technological innovation.

Assessment methods:

  • Component 1: Work Based Project and Report

    The project report has a word limit of 2,500 (+ or - 10%)

    Component 2: Presentation of Work Based Project followed by Questioning

    Duration: Presentation of 10 minutes and questioning for 15 minutes (+10%)

    Location: Presentation and questioning to take place at a suitable location such as the employer or training providers premises.

    Graded: Fail / Pass / Distinction

  • This will be a structured discussion between the apprentice and the Independent End Point Assessor (IEPA) and will provide the opportunity for the apprentice to demonstrate their core knowledge, skills and behaviours. 12 compentency-based questionswill be asked during the discussion.

    Duration: 45 minutes

    Location: A suitable location, usually the employers premises.

    Graded: Fail / Pass
