VetSkill is a Disability Confident Committed employer!

We are proud to announce that VetSkill is now a registered Disability Confident Committed employer!

What is the Disability Confident scheme?

Disability Confident is a scheme designed by the Government to help employers recruit as inclusively and fairly as possible, drawing from the widest possible pool of talent.

Simultaneously, the scheme also supports individuals in identifying employers who are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace, ensuring more confidence in the recruitment process for all parties.

By fulfilling these roles, the scheme ultimately aims to change the cultures of organisations, challenging the attitudes of communities and increasing understanding of disability universally.

How is VetSkill Disability Confident Committed?

In September 2024, VetSkill officially became a registered Disability Confident Committed employer.

As a subscriber to the Disability Confident scheme, we recognise the value and talent that those with disabilities can bring to our business, both in meeting the needs of our workforce and better reflecting the diversity of the community we serve.

Therefore, our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible; we actively encourage applications from individuals with disabilities and guarantee to interview those who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

On an equally important scale, we also aim to ensure that employees benefit from our inclusive practices after the recruitment stage. This can mean anticipating and providing the reasonable adjustments required by our employees to fulfil their potential, or supporting employees who acquire a disability or long-term health condition to stay in work.

Greg Warman, CEO of VetSkill, comments:

“Here at VetSkill, we think differently about disability, and are always striving to improve our equity, diversity and inclusion practices. It is of utmost importance to us that we contribute to a movement of change and provide those with disabilities the opportunity to succeed in the workplace”.
